Many have spent time in aspects of the landscape world, from horticulture to contracting. The range of backgrounds and cultures in each class makes the learning experience dynamic and rich.]

The Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) provides ways for students to connect with their profession and community before graduation. Students attend and assist in state-wide and national conferences, making contacts that will shape their professional careers in years to come. The chapter takes on local service projects as well, building valuable experience while strengthening ties with the community.]

The ASLA Student Chapter is working hard to enrich the landscape experience for all those who study and teach at the Louisiana School for the Deaf. They have designed a small courtyard, had the design accepted by the School, and are in the process of actually constructing the garden. Anticipated completion date is the end of this year. Students working on the project are Shaun Drinkard and Jonathan Swanson.]
