The architectural profession requires formal education and practical experience, followed by a professional examination and registration. To become a registered architect, you will need to earn your degree, gain practical work experience and pass a professional examination.
The school focuses on giving you the creative, design and technical skills you need to work in the field of architecture. With a new minor in community design and a travel program, the School of Architecture offers you opportunities to tailor your studies to your particular interests. The travel program allows you to visit major architectural centers, study abroad and participate in exchange programs. In your fourth and fifth year, you may apply to study at the Architectural Consortium in Virginia, a unique opportunity to work with students from ten universities from around the world.
